Abstract :
Presents a comprehensive design strategy for controlling the level of a river reach, using a distributed computer-based monitoring and control system that can be easily replicated. The river under investigation is the Thames and in particular the Caversham reach near Reading in Berkshire, in which a pilot plant has been successfully operated for two years
