Abstract :
In this paper, an accelerating algorithm based on wavelet decomposition is proposed for fractal image encoding. Image range blocks are encoded based on fixed location domain blocks in different wavelet scales. Furthermore, encoding time can be shortened by utilizing the correlation between different wavelet scales. Simulations show that the compression ratio of our method is much higher than that of the searchless fractal method in spatial domain, while its runtime is short
