Abstract :
In the process of writing on a handwriting-input device, if the input device is askew or the writer does not pay attention to the direction, then the output character will be oblique even totally reversal. So a way to rectify the origin input character is needed and good methods will make the latter Chinese character recognition and signature verification be more convenient. In this paper, a new method to rectify Chinese Character based on force information is proposed. The method makes use of the rich force information obtained from the novel handwriting-input device F-Tablet, which is devised by the Robot sensor Lab of Institute of Intelligent Machine. First the characteristic of force information of writing is analyzed, then the corresponding plane angle of force barycenter (PAFB) is defined, which reflects the Chinese character´s writing force-characteristic. The experimental data indicate that the normal PAFB is about 315 degrees with 10 degree´s standard deviation. So the method extracts the input character´s PAFB and rectifies it to the normal angle to complete the rectification of Chinese character
