Abstract :
We examine the emerging area of timing-driven system design. This area builds upon advances in semiconductor integrated circuits (IC) design and real-time computing to drive the design process particularly for single-chip microelectronic systems. Computer-aided design tools and methodologies are needed to ensure the correctness of the design and efficiency of the design process. We present an overview of a timing-driven design methodology and identify the needed technologies for efficient and error-free system designs
