  • Abstract
    For exactly segmenting the object in the image, an algorithm of image segmentation according to PSO (particle swarm optimization) and snake model was proposed. The PSO has some advantages, such as the global optimization, sensitive degree low for noise. The drawbacks of the traditional snake model which are the high noise sensitive degree and local optimization are overcome by the combination of PSO and snake. It is proved by experiment that preferable image segmentation result is gotten based on the algorithm
