Abstract :
This paper presents a novel medium access control algorithm for the QoS support over UWB networks. Interference mitigation techniques are combined with access control to guarantee the packet loss and maximum packet delay satisfaction. Two QoS indexes are defined and are considered for the acceptance of a call on the network in order to maintain low the interference level of transmitting stations. Performance evaluations have been considered in terms of data throughput and maximum data packet delay.
