Abstract :
Basic operation principles are discussed along with the statistical error estimates of passive remote wireless surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensing with differential phase measurement (DPM). Limiting errors are evaluated for single and multiple DPM. Practical recommendations for designers of such systems are also given. The estimation is provided in a sense of the maximum likelihood function at the ideal coherent receiver in presence of Gaussian noise
