            Abstract :
A constant-rotation DCT (discrete cosine transform) processor architecture using CORDIC (coordinate-rotation digital computer) techniques, CRDCT, is proposed. The architecture is composed of a linear array of identical CORDIC processing elements. Since the processing elements are identical, the architecture is especially suitable for VLSI (very-large-scale integration) implementation, and the costs of design and implementation are reduced. Results for the breadboard implementation of an eight-point constant-rotation DCT are given to verify the correctness of the CRDCT
