Abstract :
The Usage Reference Model (URM) project (R1077) is responsible for consolidating the results of all the usage studies in RACE (application analysis, application pilots, usability studies) in order to provide operational requirements for IBC infrastructure design. Operational Requirements are defined as descriptions of the desired behaviour of a system from a user´s perspective. Prior to describing how they can be produced the authors address two issues which arise from the notion of `a user´s perspective´. Firstly, they consider the level of the application. Secondly, they address the specification of a communication infrastructure, so providing a description of the desired behaviour of a system from a user´s perspective
