Abstract :
The RACE telepublishing (R1075) project is a strategic project for the printing and publishing industries. It aims to exploit advanced computer hardware, software and communication technologies for the solution of existing problems and for the support of future possible products. The global aim is to analyze, define and prototype an heterogeneous communication scenario for designing, editing, printing and publishing. In the Telepublishing project, three publishing applications are being built in an effort to investigate and illustrate the potential usefulness of broadband in publishing. The applications concern mail-order catalogues, schoolbooks, and an individualized electronic newspaper (IEN)
