Broadband on the move

The authors present the two pronged approaches adopted in the RACE mobile project to define the mobile broadband system (MBS). Work to date has concentrated on the the feasibility of such a system operating at millimetre wave frequencies, and on how the system might be implemented at a functional level. The authors discuss radio path modelling, channel modelling and equalisation, MBS fixed network architecture and security, and the distributed database
