Abstract :
The method is proposed for changing the effective length the electrodes of calculable cross capacitor (CC) by use of sectioned detector electrodes and their movement along the axis of capacitor electrodes. This method allows to eliminate a number of shortcomings of conventional CCs, in which the length is changed by moving the guard electrodes. Guard electrodes disturb the field that is described in Thompson-Lampard theorem and multiply the effect of local imperfections on the electrodes and misalignment of the electrodes.
