Abstract
This paper describes a technique for measuring the shielding effectiveness (SE) of planar samples which cannot easily be electrically bonded to the surround of an aperture in an enclosure or mounted into a coaxial jig for testing. The technique is able to measure SE of up to 100 dB and can also be used to determine some levels of anisotropy in the sample. The technique is easy to carry out and takes a few minutes with none of the sample preparation that other techniques require.
