Abstract :
Hilbert-Huang transform is a new time-frequency method. The essence of the method is empirical mode decomposition. This decomposition method is adaptive, and, therefore, highly efficient. Since the decomposition is based on the local characteristic time scale of the signal, it is applicable to non-stationary processes. The completeness, local orthogonality and linearity of empirical mode decomposition are proved, and the properties of time-shift, filtering, time domain scale filtering, and removing the trend component automatically of it are presented, and at the same time the adaptive generalized basis based on it is put forward. In this way the theory of Hilbert-Huang transform is enriched and perfected, which is of great importance to its application
