  • Abstract
This paper introduces a generic publish-subscribe protocol, that works both for the unstructured and DHT-based peer-to-peer networks. Unlike most of the approaches, it does not rely on the overlay-specific features of the routing algorithms for the efficient multicast topology structure creation and maintenance. Moreover it is highly customizable to address the optimization issues and support different topology structures. The described framework may be used by the distributed collaborative applications as middleware to implement presence or exchange information about the shared workspace.
