Abstract :
Thin film multijunction thermal converters (MJTC) for ac-dc current transfer standards have been developed and the nominal current level has been increased from 10 mA. The heater of the MJTC has input resistance of 10 Ω, which has nominal current of 100 mA. The heater resistor was sputtered onto the surface of the AlN plate which acted as cooling heat-sink to draw the heat away from heater resistor. The output emf is about 60 mV for the nominal current level. The observed current level dependence of ac-dc current transfer differences from 20 mA to 100 mA for the 10 Ω-MJTC was less than 2 μV/V at frequency range between 10 Hz and 100 kHz.
