Abstract :
As a numerical calculation method, finite-difference time-domain method (FDTD), which is used to analyze the electromagnetic problems, can cause some inevitable errors. This paper mainly analyzes the effects of FDTD using different grid length to dispose of the electromagnetic problems. Then, we briefly illustrate the numerical stability condition of FDTD and the relationship between the space-step and the time-step. According to the experience, it can be presented that the proof of making sure the grid length in FDTD calculating is the grid length must satisfy this relation: Delta<lambda/10. Meanwhile, the value of the time-step Deltat should be taken into account to ensure the stability of FDTD.
