Technological innovation of private enterprise is the driving force and source of national economic growth and one of the important factors for national competency. However, as the global economy becomes more reliant on technological innovation, some private enterprises are yet to reap the benefits that technological innovation has to offer. Choice of technological innovation mode (TIM) amongst private enterprises has become significant research topics in recent times. This paper firstly reviews some past literature research, attempts to analyze the obstacles for private enterprise technological innovation in China, and mainly has a discussion on the appropriate choice of four TIMs. Further, this paper proposes some feasible countermeasures to overcome the obstacles of technological innovation and reform TIM on a basis of enterprise development.
