Abstract :
Entering the 21th century, international division of labor undergoes profound changes. In global value chain, the developed countries always occupy the parts with high added value while the developing countries mainly take on simple and low value-added manufacturing activities. And it is the true reflection of Chinese car industry. Thinking out getting rid of the low position in global value chain by enterprise upgrading is driven both by the restriction of resource and internal choice of Chinese car enterprises. For Chinese car enterprise upgrading, this paper proposes a theoretic analysis framework by combining external and internal factors and makes empirical study on the framework based on Chinese regional panel data. Besides, by analyzing two typical car enterprises, this paper also makes empirical study on the status quo of Chinese car enterprise upgrading.
