Abstract :
A reflective type polarizer-free, color-filter-free and bistable displays using a liquid crystal and polymer composite film (LCPCF) is demonstrated. The main mechanism is based on the droplet manipulation on LCPCF whose wettability is electrically tunable. The surface properties of LCPCF are discussed. The potential applications of LCPCF are electronic papers and biosensors.
