Abstract
In this paper a novel robust technique for uncalibrated, or partially calibrated, direction finding array systems is proposed to cope with noise of unknown statistics and with array electrical and geometrical uncertainties. The proposed technique is based on robust H ∞ estimation in a game theory framework and requires the design of a new state-space model for the array output signal. This model incorporates the array uncertainties explicitly as system disturbances rather than lump them into the noise terms. The described theoretical formulation is supported by a number of computer simulation studies that certify the robustness of the proposed technique
