Abstract
Focusing on the WCDMA uplink, the paper proposes a spatial-temporal processing technology based on blind source separation (BSS). It aims to separate the interference from the mixtures and, as such, produce the spread spectrum signal with reduced jammer contamination, exploiting only the assumption of mutual independence between the sources, and achieves despreading at the same time. This approach can be applied further to immunise the system against the near-far effect. This decreases the system multiple access interference (MAI) and increases the system capacity. Simulation is performed to validate the superiority of the approach.
