Abstract :
When Broadcast Television Systems designed its new production switchers Diamond and Topaz, many approaches concerning the operation and design of such switchers were evaluated. Valuable suggestions from the users were given and considered. The following features of `keying´, which are implemented in the new switcher family are discussed: automated key adjustment; how the crystal key (chroma key) is obtained; and the principle of paint mode masking
