Abstract :
A calculation method illustrated by practical example to estimate the effect of a Ground Potential Rise (GPR) occurring in the vicinity of a multiconductor network of railway system is presented and discussed. This program takes into account the simultaneous effects of conductive and inductive coupling of a GPR on the electrical scheme of the telecommunication/signalization/earth cable of a railway system. This paper shows how and why all these latter parameters should be considered in order to assess accurately this phenomenon.
