Abstract :
The time domain performance of the electromagnetic field subjected to a lightning strike is discussed. The model is based on the quasi-static electromagnetic field theory approach and the complex image method. Once the frequency domain responses have been obtained, the time domain performance of the system is computed by an inverse Fourier transformation of all these responses. The method may be applied for frequencies up to 1 MHz, thus covering the frequency spectrum of a typical full lightning too.
