Abstract :
A face detection method combined cursory detection and validation was proposed in this paper. At first, the candidate face areas were located according to skin model and the best threshold from experiment. And the mouth areas were located according to mouth model; then the eyes areas were located according to gradient and symmetry characteristic of eyes. At last, the face areas were confirmed through geometrical characteristic of face areas. The experiments demonstrate that the method can detect faces fast and accurately from complicated context
