Abstract :
In open electricity supply industry, power market simulation has been accepted as a versatile tool for effective information integration and simulation realization of different functional modules in power markets. A web-based electricity market simulator designed and developed on an. NET platform is presented in this paper. The simulator is of good flexibility and extensibility for simulating and visualizing the operation of the day-ahead and real-time electricity markets with pool-model. It can be used for calculating the market clearing prices and dispatched generation capacities for each participating generation company, and investigating the main features of the wholesale electricity markets. A case study of implementation on a five generation companies configuration is included to highlight the essential features of the simulator.
