Abstract :
A window-type warning system for vehicles is proposed. Auxiliary information is directly displayed on the windshield of a vehicle. According to the image information of obstacles and the driver from cameras, the coordinates of the obstacles relative to the moving vehicle are calculated in realtime. The line of vision equation is constructed from coordinates of the driver and an obstacle. The explicit equation of the intersection point between the line of vision and the windshield surface is derived using the algebraic method. Based on the mathematical model of the window-type warning system, a computer simulation program is constructed to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed system.
