Abstract :
In this paper, we present a scheme called extended deficit round robin (EDRR) that is a combination of hop-by- hop credit based flow control with a modified version of deficit round robin (DRR) scheduling to achieve network wide max-min fair share (MMFS). To the best of our knowledge, EDRR is the first scheme that combines DRR with hop-by-hop credit based flow control. EDRR does not suffer from unfairness caused by variable packet lengths and is not affected by the underlying quantum value used for DRR scheduling.
