Abstract
The paper takes a particular, and unconventional, approach to the treatment of information in a traditional practice in production management. The paper examines the possibility of integrating conventional data management, as used for applications of this production flow analysis (PFA) technique, and the approach to data management central to the contemporary methodologies prevailing in modern manufacturing systems analysis. The discussion focuses on issues regarding the combination of the conventional PFA treatment of the parameters describing a particular case and the treatment required to be compatible with the various facets of computer integrated manufacture (CIM)
