Abstract :
PM650 and PM567 doped nematic liquid crystals (NLC) cells were fabricated. With an applied electric field in PM650 doped nematic liquid crystals, tunable amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) was realized due to the change of the effective refractive index of the NLC layer caused by the reorientation of NLC molecules. By using holographic excitation, narrow linewidth laser at about 571 nm was also realized in PM567 doped nematic liquid crystals.
