Abstract :
An investigation into the design procedure of current controlled inverters for permanent magnet drives is presented. The control strategy of the current controlled inverter is based on the principles of the ramp-comparison controller. Design formulas are derived for constant switching frequency applications such that 100% modulation is maintained. The procedure is tested on a developed 30 kVA inverter and a 12 kW PMSM dynamic drive
