Abstract
A new approach to the field oriented control of brushless DC machines is presented and is applied to the control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The motor modelling is based on Park´s d-q components. The choice of an original control algorithm, decoupling the control of the direct and quadrature currents, leads to a mathematical model easy to implement and use. Moreover, this numerical algorithm allows the reduction of the order of transfer function of the current loops and consequently, an improvement of the dynamic response of the current. This method has been tested by digital simulation of the control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor supplied by a voltage PWM inverter. The results of the simulation on the starting and no load reversal speed show considerable improvement in dynamic responses of the current and speed, and a good stability
