            Abstract :
A major problem associated with cycloconverter AC drive systems is the subharmonic magnetization of the input transformer core. Since cycloconverter drive systems are used for high power drives, the reduction of reactive power requirements, especially at low output voltages is a very desirable feature. These concerns can be addressed by employing the reactive power controllable circulating current (RPCCC) cycloconverter. The DOS technique, a steady state simulation programme is extended for determining the harmonic performance of RPCCC cycloconverters. The system considered is a three phase synchronous motor drive
