Abstract :
Existence of multiple paths between any pair of source and destination nodes make multi-path transport suitable for courseware-on-demand (CoD) services over wireless mesh networks (WMNs). Due to the limitation of mesh client upload capacities, the optimal mesh client selection to construct high-quality streaming topology represents a major challenge in WMNs. This paper proposes a fully distributed algorithm to achieve optimal mesh client selection for supporting concurrent CoD services over WMNs. We design an efficient distributed algorithm based on the solution to a linear optimization model, which guarantees bandwidth availability and minimizes the overall end-to-end streaming latencies from the source to all receivers. The validity and effectiveness of our approach are demonstrated in simulations.
