Abstract :
Power quality issues have increasingly been given more and more attentions recently by power system and consumers. The begin-end time and disturbance amplitude are important properties of power quality disturbance. It is necessary to detect power quality in order to analyze and evaluate it. Because the calculation quantity and redundancy of continuous wavelet transform was big and multi-resolution analysis method was difficult to detect disturbance directly for it need dual sample and reconstruct signal. Binary wavelet transform was adopted to detect power quality disturbance based on wavelet transform local modulus maximum theory, which corresponding to the singular point of power quality disturbance signal and can be used to detect disturbance. Simulation of voltage sag, voltage swell, voltage interruption and transient impulse using ATP (Alternative Transients Program), spline wavelet was adopted to make binary wavelet transform for power quality disturbance signal, detection results indicate that relative exact detection can be acquired at decomposition scale one.
