  • Abstract
In this work we propose to model transient electromagnetic coupling between Ultra High Voltage (UHV) or High Voltage (HV) substation and shielded cable located at its proximity. This study takes into account the finite conductivity of the soil and the cable shield. To analyze this problem we use the general theory of transmission lines and the numerical method called FDTD to calculate the transient currents in the busbars and the currents induced in the cable. Given the important geometric dimension of the air insulation substation, the aim of our study is to place at the disposal of the engineer a simplified modeling with acceptable computation time and especially to perform parametric analysis without numerical constraints.
