Abstract :
Modeling is among the most important steps in building a simulation system. Applying UML (unified modeling language) to HLA (high level architecture)-based simulation system will lead to a better understanding, design and construction of the simulation system and promote its further development. A UML Profile for HLA-based system modeling (UML-HLA) was proposed to extend UML on the basis of HLA-specific characteristics. Above all, the overall structure of UML-HLA is presented. And, the stereotypes, tagged values and theirs constraints in UML-HLA were discussed respectively. A case was studied for illustrating the advantages of UML-HLA. Results show that using UML-HLA can precisely and effectively model HLA-based simulation system.
