  • Abstract
An electrorheological actuator with double driving discs rotating at the same speed in the opposite directions is used for investigating dynamic experiments. The dynamic model of the disc transmission system consists of the viscous part between the output angle and the electric torque, and the electrical part between the electric torque and the applied field strength. Using only the sampled output angular velocity signals an autoregressive model of the fourth order cumulant function and the trispectrum function which were taken to analysis the dynamic characteristics of the electrorheological actuator, have been obtained when a zero mean non-Gaussian white noise interferes with the rotary discs system. The experimental and theoretical results show that the time series model and the parametric trispectrum are helpful to establish the dynamic model and to analyze the electrorheological actuator. The measurement and analysis process based on virtual instruments are automatically controlled by computer in this paper
