Abstract
Service and network evolution, and the impact on the quality of service are discussed, and a survey of customer views on quality of service is presented in comparison with other public services, such as electricity and railways. Design methods for obtaining desired network performance in such areas as trafficability performances, transmission performance, and network reliability are discussed, along with asynchronous transfer mode network performance in the broadband integrated services digital network
