Innovations in the pricing and metering of wholesale electricity in New Zealand

As a result of the restructuring of the wholesale electricity industry, and of the recently implemented wholesale pricing structures, the environment for a competitive electricity market in New Zealand has been set. This has encouraged a more efficient electricity industry which will in turn better position the industry against its energy competitors. The authors describe how the corporatisation of the New Zealand´s Electricity Corporation and the associated deregulation have therefore been extremely successful in achieving the efficiency goals of the New Zealand government
