Abstract
The authors discuss the requirement for and the development of a double register electronic watthour meter and a centralised telecontrol system. In particular they describe the custom IC and current sensors in the meter, and the radiofrequency and ripple control links in the telecontrol system. The equipment described is used for the double tariffing of small power consumers in Brazil
