Abstract :
Digital libraries and e-learning systems are thus important enabling technologies for the knowledge supply chain in the digital age. Therefore, this paper addresses the meaning of “elearning”, and how it can be supported by the digital library environment, the functionality of the digital library; and how e-learning resources are included and organized in the digital library. This paper also aims to examines and discuss the crucial roles libraries play in e-learning; the challenges and opportunities facing the e-learning program and the library´s involvement. We propose a model for implementing e-learning through DLs according to knowledge management process. The proposed model would contribute to the advancement of academic debate in both the areas of DL and E-learning.
