A multi application contactless smart card applied to metering

The GEC Smart Card system is a significant advance in prepayment electricity meter technology. The contactless system greatly improves reliability by removing the need for physical contact with the internal electronics and the possibility of having no slots or apertures. Intelligence in the token allows multiple applications to be handled hence creating new opportunities from sharing the infrastructure or renting space on the card.
