Abstract :
In applications where high gain amplifiers or ideal current sources are needed, the output impedance of cascode transistors can be enhanced by an auxiliary amplifier. Such configurations maintain high voltage swing at the output which make them very suitable for switched current applications. The relative merits of different amplifier structures for such gain-enhancement purposes are discussed in this paper
