Abstract
One of the main objectives of the paper is to properly account for the effects of core-losses on the no-load current wave shape in single phase transformers. This paper is aimed at conversion procedures for passing from the manufacturer´s or test data to network model parameters, needed by digital programs to construct internal equations for time domain simulation. It is shown that the iron-core losses have a significant effect on the total excitation current for the small transformer or transformers with a high core loss. Also it has been shown that the iron-core losses have a significant effect on the total excitation current for transformers that do not have a sharply defined knee point.
