Abstract
Many machine vision applications can be simplified by the recognition of pertinent colours in the image. A system is described for investigating clustering in various colour spaces. This can be used to choose the most suitable colour space for segmentation in a particular Field. The recognition of resistor colour bands is chosen as a specific case study
