Abstract :
In this paper, we focus our attention on analyzing the cross-polarization modulation (XPolM) phenomena in the semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). Based on numerical simulation consisting in gain and stokes parameters measurement, the impact of XPolM on the SOA structure behavior is reported and detailed. Therefore, the exploitation of the nonlinear polarization rotation effect to perform applications in high bit rate optical networks and functionalities in all-optical signal processing is investigated.
