Abstract
Military high frequency transmission standard STANAG 4538 defines the third generation automatic link establishment as well as their associated waveforms. This paper presents the simulated performance of the automatic repeat request scheme with code combining implemented in the standard. Results show a good efficiency for an SNR range from -6 dB up to 20 dB over a white additive Gaussian noise channel.
