Abstract :
With the scale of wind turbines being enlarged, troubles caused by the blades flapping became much more apparent. By researching on the aerodynamic characteristics of the wind turbine and simulating in Fluent software, the force curves on the blade element were got at different wind speeds and different pitch angles. The non-uniformity of the force distribution causes flapping of the blades. According to the speed distribution on the rotating plane, the piecewise PID weight number arithmetic of individual blade pitch control was presented and tested on the test-bed. The results of it were compared with that of the collective control and the comparisons testified that the individual blade pitch control could not only stabilize power output but also reduce the flapping of the blades
